Researchers from Google’s AI-focused unit DeepMind claim its AlphaCode system can express solutions to problems in code that achieves a median-level score in programming competitions undertaken by new programmers. Those competitions require humans to comprehend a problem described in natural language and then code an algorithm efficiently. In a new non-peer reviewed paper, DeepMind researchers detail how AlphaCode achieved an average ranking of the top 54.3% of participants in 10 previously held programming competitions with more than 5,000 participants....

Avengers: Endgame is about to release in cinemas worldwide, so here’s a full recap of the MCU ahead of the film. Avengers: Infinity War had a big opening day at the China box office. The stars of Avengers: Infinity War each get the spotlight in new character posters. Marvel Studios is ramping up the marketing campaign for Infinity War. After delivering two trailers and moving the release date up, there’s less than a month till the movie hits theaters. That would typically mean press screenings are right around the corner, but Marvel’s being especially secretive with this blockbuster. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo even just shared a note with everyone online asking to be mindful of others and not post spoilers....
