The new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice offered a whole lot of new footage. From Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) debating about heroes, to the two characters standing united with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) against Doomsday (possibly Michael Shannon doing motion capture), there were several noticeable reveals and it generated a few more questions, too. The debut of Superman’s powerful enemy, Doomsday (or at least a creature with similar physical attributes), came as a surprise to many and more footage of Lex Luthor (Jessie Eisenberg) was finally released, but some fans were left wondering one thing: where’s Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman (Jason Momoa)?

Snyder has informed fans that they’ll “understand he [Aquaman] exists” after watching Batman v Superman. Despite the King of the Seven Seas having a spinoff movie scheduled for 2018 –Aquaman is already generating reports about which characters it may feature – and Momoa revealing he’s read Geoff Johns’ New 52 Aquaman run for the performance, the hero’s role in BvS has remained a mystery. There have been rumors about how he may appear, but, at the time of this writing, the character has only appeared in a promotional picture – one that teases uniting the seven members of the Justice League. Now, fans can finally get a look at the character’s full design, and it’s all thanks to an upcoming action figure.

Four new Batman v Superman action figures were on display at Comic Con Experience 2015: Battle Armor Batman, Wonder Woman, Epic Battle Superman, and, of course, Aquaman. The Aquaman Shine shared a few photos of the upcoming DC action figures, including a close-up of Aquaman. While this action figure doesn’t shed any more light on the character’s presence in the movie, it does reveal more of how he will allegedly look in the film. Check them out below:

Jason Momoa’s first image as Aquaman was muted. This left fans curious about just how bright the colors on his costume will be when he does appear on the big screen. The gold does seem to be quite bright on the action figure, while the green pants are a little darker. However, it’s probable this action figure is not an accurate representation of how vivid the gold will be onscreen. (Given the current look at the film, the pants will likely remain dark green, though.) After all, the Wonder Woman figure has brighter shades of red and gold than the design that was seen in the end of the new Batman v Superman trailer.

Does Aquaman having his own figure guarantee he plays a noteworthy role in the film? No. But seeing as the Justice Leaguer has a solo film on the way, we wouldn’t rule out the titan making a cheerworthy cameo – or at least one that strives to fill fans with joy. Snyder has praised Aquaman’s might before, so one would imagine the director would be tempted to show off the character’s strength, especially since Aquaman is often mocked by casual fans. (For the record, Aquaman’s ridiculously strong and tough.) A fight with Doomsday could give Snyder the chance to show audiences just how formidable he can be, but that’s purely speculative, obviously.

Only time will tell how significant of a role Momoa’s Aquaman will have, just like fans will have to wait and see whether or not that “epic battle Superman” is an armor worn by the Man of Steel at any point in the movie, or if it’s just limited to the action figure.
