The arrival of Batman Day draws near, uniting fans around the world to celebrate the 80th anniversary of DC’s Dark Knight, the World’s Greatest Detective. And to make sure that millions of fans gets to feel what it’s like to be protected by the caped crusader, DC and Warner Bros. are lighting up the night skies by projecting the iconic Bat-Signal amidst larger fan celebrations in major cities around the globe. And it all begin on Saturday, September 21.

With a countdown similar to New Year’s Eve, the Bat silhouette will be projected onto skyscrapers and landmarks around the world in rolling fashion as the sun sets in each city. In Los Angeles, DC and Warner Bros. have announced their plans to host a special Batman 5K night run, which fans can sign-up to participate at DCBatmanRun.com. Batman runs will also take place throughout Asia in Shanghai, Manila, Singapore and Bangkok, in Latin American cities São Paulo and Mexico City, and Brisbane, Australia.

Until the day arrives fans can follow the full schedule and planned events with an interactive Batman Bat-Tracker launched by DC today. As cities flip the famous switch illuminating the insignia, the Batman Bat-Tracker will mirror the real-time projections. Full details and information, as well as the Bat-Tracker can be found at Batman80.com. But to see one of the projected Bat-Signals in person fans will need to make their way to the planned building ahead of 8:00 pm local time in the included cities. Melbourne, Australia begins the wave of Bat-Signaling at Fed Square facing Flinders Street, 9 hours ahead of London, and 14 hours ahead of the original Gotham, New York City.
