The Bachelorette star Tyler Cameron was replaced with Gigi Hadid’s sister, Bella, as her date to the MTV VMAs. The two supermodels were a power couple on the red carpet.
Not long after he was dumped by Bachelorette Hannah Brown on the season finale of The Bachelorette, Cameron, the runner-up, was spotted out in New York City with Gigi. Weeks later and their relationship appears to be going strong. They’re frequently seen out on dates together in NYC and Brooklyn, and even took their first vacation together recently. But, while things look like they’re going well between them, Gigi opted to take somebody else to the VMAs - someone she’s known a lot longer.
Gigi was photographed on the red carpet at the VMAs with her date, younger sister Bella - not Cameron. The two wore matching gold outfits as they posed for pictures. Gigi rocked a corset with metallic pants, while Bella wore a two-piece dress with straps. Before the event on Monday night, there were rumors that Gigi was planning on attending with Cameron, when fans found out there was an empty seat next to her in New Jersey’s Prudential Center, according to Us Weekly. But he wasn’t seen inside the venue at any point, and Gigi was instead spotted dancing with her sister and friend, model Adriana Lima. They all enjoyed their BFF Taylor Swift’s opening performance.
Meanwhile, Cameron wasn’t spotted at the VMAs because he was busy playing basketball in Harlem. The reality star shared clips of himself playing a game of basketball on his Instagram story. The videos were taken by his friend and business partner Matt James, who was also at the game, and who he previously nominated to be the next Bachelor. The former Bachelor star also shared a video of the burritos he and James ate after the game. While they might not have had as exciting a night as Gigi, it was still pretty solid.
It’s been great to see Cameron happy in a relationship since his breakup with Brown. Insiders have previously said that Gigi’s a lot happier in her new relationship, too. While Cameron didn’t make it to the VMAs, he’s been seen out with Gigi getting dinner with Serena Williams and having drinks at Justin Theroux’s New York City bar, so needless to say, he’s had a really good summer.
