On Monday’s episode of The Bachelor, Madison Prewett returned to the rose ceremony after leaving Peter Weber during their last one-on-one date. The source of much speculation, Madison decided she wasn’t yet ready to walk away from Peter just yet.

During the fantasy suite round, Madison was forced to room with Hannah Ann Sluss and Victoria Fuller in a cruel stunt intended to force Madison to have awkward conversations with the other women. The show set it up so that Hannah Ann and Victoria would go on their dates first, leaving Madison to only imagine why they weren’t coming home until the following morning. The women didn’t say what they did on their fantasy suite dates, so Madison went into her date with Peter expecting him to not have slept with either of the other women. She was thrown off guard when he stated that he had indeed been intimate with Hannah Ann and Victoria.

After walking away from Peter, Madison made a dramatic entrance to the final three rose ceremony. She seemed unsure if she should even be there, still processing Peter’s admission to her. Peter gave Hannah Ann the first rose and handed Madison the second, asking “You sure?” when she said she would accept the rose. He could see the concern on her face, but his connection was always stronger with Madison than it was with Victoria.

Peter said he was in love with three women, but there were obvious red flags with Victoria. They had trouble communicating with each other the whole season. That breakdown in communication led to Peter never meeting Victoria’s family. During their fantasy suite date, Victoria again got upset with Peter asking her a question. But then, they quickly got over it and had sex. She had a chance to speak with him during the Women Tell All, thanking him but also apologizing for putting him through hell.

The finale looks like it’s teetering on the question of whether Madison is really ready to move on and put the fantasy suites in the past. Peter will likely still need to explain himself. He might realize it will never work with Madison and decide to get engaged to Hannah Ann instead. And then, there’s the ultimate cliffhanger of who Peter’s mother is talking about when she says, “Bring her home!” It’s obvious Peter made the right decision in sending Victoria home, but the most important move still awaits.
