Former The Bachelor star, Ben Higgins clapped back at a troll who commented that his girlfriend, Jessica Clarke, looks like a teenager. Ben went to his girlfriend’s defense and showered her in compliments while he was at it.
Ben was first brought to Bachelor Nation’s attention as a contestant on the 11th season of The Bachelorette and then later on The Bachelor in season 20, where he proposed to Lauren Bushnell at the finale. The couple had a brief spinoff of their lives, but after the couple split up in 2017, it was soon canceled. Hopeless romantic Ben was still looking for “the one” when he spotted Jessica while looking on Instagram for Nashville hockey game posts. He slid into her DMs and the rest is history. 30-year-old Ben revealed that he and 24-year-old Jessica were officially a couple in January of this year.
Ben posted a Boomerang video his Instagram of him and Jessica walking together hand-in-hand, dressed up for a Bachelor Nation wedding. His Almost Famous Podcast co-host and Bachelor alum Ashley Iaconetti wed The Bachelorette’s Jared Haibon, and Ben and Jessica were some of the Bachelor Nation stars there to support them. Ben captioned the video, “Come on @jessclarke_ let’s run got a wedding to get to!’ That sure was something else… #whenjaredmetashley” After posting the Boomerang, there was a comment from an Instagram user, reading: “She legit looks like she’s in high school.” The comment, referring to 24-year-old Jessica, had nearly 200 comments, one of which was from Ben himself. Ben clapped back at the user’s comment by writing about Jessica, saying, “I think she looks like a beautifully spry, youthfully joy-filled, optimistically wise 24 year old….but that’s just me.” The former Bachelor star went on to add, “And I think she [is] smoking hot.” One of Bachelor Nation’s fan favorites hinted at getting the wedding bug himself as he hinted a few months back that he is considering proposing to Jessica.
After Ben and Jessica attended Ashely and Jared’s wedding, there is definitely speculation that Ben and Jessica are going to be the next couple down that path after seeing his podcast co-host happily walking down the aisle. Even though the couple has only been together for eight months, it’s never too early to have another Bachelor Nation proposal - seeing as that’s literally the whole point of shows like The Bachelor in the first place.
