Star of Bachelor in Paradise, Dean Unglert, has been hospitalized after a skiing accident in the Swiss Alps. Unglert spent the past few months enjoying some downtime with his Bachelor in Paradise co-star Caelynn Miller-Keyes, but he’s since run into some trouble that’ll have him stuck inside for the holidays.

Last summer, Unglert starred on the Bachelor Nation series Bachelor in Paradise. After originally starring on Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette, Unglert failed to find love the first time around, but was successful in the subsequent spinoff. He was caught in a love triangle, Kristina Schulman or Danielle Lombard, only to fall for someone else entirely: Miller-Keyes. They had a somewhat bumpy start to their relationship - with Unglert going so far as to break up with her on her birthday while filming the show - but ended up reconnecting shortly after when Unglert realized that he had made a mistake. Ever since his return, the two have been a strong post-Bachelor in Paradise couple… which is really saying something. However, a recent trip together proved unsuccessful while Unglert was on the slopes.

Unglert revealed on his Instagram (via People) that he was on a skiing trip in the Swiss Alps when things (literally) took a turn for the worst. He posted of photo of himself in the hospital, revealing that he has a “dislocated hip and fractured femur” after a nasty fall. He even had to get a plate and three screws surgically placed into his leg. That said, despite the severity of his situation, he’ll be OK. The biggest downfall at the moment, now that he’s feeling well enough to post about his experience on social media, is that he’ll be stuck in the hospital recuperating for 12 weeks. One missing piece from Unglert’s misadventures in the Swiss Alps is Miller-Keyes. Despite the fact that the two are still together - as far as anyone knows, at least - it’s unclear whether or not she was/is with him on his trip. That said, Unglert recently mentioned that the two had marriage on their mind (though not anytime soon), so chances are their physical distance has nothing to do with the state of their relationship.

Unglert has always been something of an adventurer, so this trip seems right up his alley. He even mentioned on Instagram that he’s always dreamt of going on this exact trip. So, even though things didn’t exactly turn out the way he imagined, this ski accident won’t likely scare him away from keeping his adventurous side alive and well.
