Bachelor in Paradise alum Chris Randone took to Twitter recently to mock disgraced contestant of The Bachelorette, Jed Wyatt, by saying the musician was asked to perform at his wedding. Surely, no such request was placed, but it nonetheless caused quite the stir on social media.
Randone was engaged to Krystal Nielson at the end of the fifth season of Bachelor in Paradise, and the two were formally wedded in June. The ceremony was aired on season six of Bachelor in Paradise. It was a celebration of what Nielson referred to as two people getting a second chance. Both Nielson and Randone made mistakes during their respective seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, but they were able to come together in Paradise and form a connection that ultimately culminated in marriage. Perhaps feeling the high of seeing his love broadcast to millions of viewers, Randone thought it would be a good time to take a shot at another Bachelorette contestant.
Randone tweeted, “Jed reached out to offer free music appearance for our wedding but we kindly declined #bachelorinparadise”. It was a sly dig at Wyatt, the guy who infamously swooned reigning Bachelorette Hannah Brown with his songs and his lies. Wyatt even brought a guitar to the proposal in the season finale, proving once and for all that his desire to promote his music knew no limits. Randone knew he would get a reaction from Bachelor Nation by tweeting this, as nearly everyone was anti-Wyatt after seeing Brown end the engagement and break up with him during the finale.
Some complimented the shade that Randone brought with the post, while others questioned why it was necessary at all. Wrote one user, “I’m not a fan of Jed at all but what was the point of this post? That’s just mean when you don’t need to be.” Another called Randone’s teasing tweet cruel and unnecessary, to which another person piled on Wyatt with, “His music is cruel and unnecessary.”
Randone didn’t need to tweet what he did, as Wyatt has endured enough since coming onto The Bachelorette for some of the most dishonorable reasons in the show’s history. It’s indicative of the questionable judgment Randone displayed when he was on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette. But, by the same token, it’s not something that Randone should be raked over the coals for posting. There are other concerning social media posts made by Bachelor Nation alums that should warrant more attention.
