Blake Horstmann is the most talked about guy on Bachelor in Paradise after an eventful two-night premiere, and now he says he has to go into hiding. A season that promised tears and drama has produced tenfold in only a couple episodes, and Horstmann has been at the epicenter of it all.

After sleeping with Kristina Schulman and Caelynn Miller-Keyes on back-to-back nights and reportedly messaging Tayshia Adams and Hannah Godwin while in bed with Miller-Keyes, Horstmann thought it might be a good idea to show up on television with the possibility of all four women being present at once. Indeed, that’s what happened, and it hasn’t worked out too well for him so far. Kristina Schulman asked Horstmann out on a date to drill him with difficult questions about his past decisions, and Horstmann was immediately mortified that his personal life was being brought up on camera. When they returned from their date, Miller-Keyes talked to him, and that’s when it really hit him that his public image might not have the best look once season 6 of Bachelor In Paradise begins airing.

In a conversation with producers, a crying Horstmann said, “I’m going to have to really go into hiding, I know I am. It’s going to be hard on everybody in my life, because of what I did.” After Miller-Keyes showed him how upset she was because he’d ignored her once he arrived in Paradise, he said, “Sometimes you try to do the right thing - I didn’t want to disrespect Caelynn, I didn’t want to disrespect Kristina. Man, this is bad. I look like the worst human in the world.”

With Adams and Miller-Keyes over Horstmann and Schulman clearly not interested, Horstmann made an attempt with Godwin, and the two kissed. This brought Horstmann out of his dark place, but Godwin, who had been exploring a relationship with Dylan Barbour, was noncommittal. She told the cameras, “Hi, I’m Hannah, and I’m in trouble this week.”

She isn’t the only one in trouble, as Horstmann has already gone on dates with Adams and Schulman, feuded with Miller-Keyes, and inserted himself into a potential fan-favorite couple of Godwin and Barbour. He’s drawn the ire of Bachelor Nation, who had their memes at the ready on Tuesday night to draw comparisons between him, Luke Parker, and Jed Wyatt in an attempt to prove he’s not the best at treating women. Horstmann, who has displayed an ability to overdramatize seemingly everything, doesn’t likely need to be in hiding. But he does need to stop playing the victim and understand that as much as he thinks no one will like him anymore, he still has more than 600,000 Instagram followers. He’ll be OK.
