Marvel Studios released a video featuring the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Avengers: Infinity War stars thanking fans for their support over these last 10 years. It’s been a decade since the MCU kicked off with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, and has since produced over 18 films, bringing some of Marvel Comics’ biggest heroes, villains, and storylines to the big screen.

The studio is currently preparing for the release of Avengers: Infinity War, the third Avengers film that will bring together most of the current roster of the MCU, such as the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, new Avengers, and newcomers Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. As part of the preparation for the film and the celebration of 10 years of the MCU, Marvel has released a video with their biggest stars thanking fans for their support throughout these years.

The video (shown above), titled 10 Years of Fandom, takes a look at the growing fan-base of the MCU, with footage from some of the studios’ biggest hits – starting with Tony Stark’s very first Iron Man armour shown in his first solo film and jumping to the latest Marvel release, Black Panther. After a quick look at Team Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War, the video jumps to footage of fans at screenings and conventions, with Robert Downey Jr thanking fans for “10 years of support and inspiration.”

Also featured are Pom Klementieff (Mantis) and Karen Gillan (Nebula) giving a shout out to cosplayers and fans that go back to the comics after watching the films; Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson aka Falcon) thanking Hall H attendees for standing in line for hours; and even Captain America himself, Chris Evans, thanking fans for those “Twitter fights”, reminiscing the #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan arguments that went down on Twitter prior to Civil War’s release. Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Dave Bautista (Drax), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Don Cheadle (War Machine), and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) also show their gratitude towards fans for their continued support.

The MCU has been building a solid fan-base since the release of Iron Man back in 2008, and as this universe expands, so does its fandom. With the release of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, the MCU has been exploring its cosmic side, continuing with Ant-Man (with the exploration of the Quantum Realm) Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and most recently Thor: Ragnarok. The studio will continue exploring this side and more with films such as Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel, as well as the fourth Avengers film, following the events in Avengers: Infinity War.

While the MCU has been constant in the quality of its films, the fans have been key to their success. Marvel has always given back to their fans – whether through fundraisers, contests, panels, or even a video thanking them for their support, which will surely continue during the rest of Phase 3 and the films scheduled beyond that, such as the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
