Sebastian Stan teases a massive scene in Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4 that features Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas. It’s almost time to see what Marvel Studios, chief Kevin Feige, and directors Joe and Anthony Russo have come up with next. Next week finally sees Infinity War launch and bring the MCU’s biggest crossover yet to the big screen. Originally intended to be a two-parter, the plan was altered to now have the mysterious Untitled Avengers hit in 2019.

While we’re still largely in the dark on Infinity War’s true plot according to the Russos, there are even fewer clues about Avengers 4. What it will be about and who is actually still alive are major questions that Infinity War will likely shed some light on. Early theories point to time travel, multiple dimensions, or Skrulls providing a way for several versions of characters to appear and for the cast list to continue to grow.

Sebastian Stan appears to have revealed to The Independent that Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer are definitely involved in this saga, too. Stan teased a major scene in one of the movies that featured everyone from the MCU together. When he started naming names, he appears to have confirmed two of Ant-Man and The Wasp’s stars.

It wouldn’t quite make sense for Stan to name drop Douglas and Pfeiffer if they weren’t involved, so this is the most concrete indication that they will appear. This actually isn’t the first time Pfeiffer has been linked to a future Avengers movie either. Just recently, Marvel producer Victoria Alonso indicated Pfeiffer was involved in a major scene, likely the same one Stan is referring to here.

There was one scene, I think, we had where everybody was there. I can’t really talk about that scene, but I knew it took them three months in planning this scene to have everyone there. You look around and you just saw everyone from Samuel L. Jackson to Michael Douglas to Michelle Pfeiffer. Everybody was there.

With Douglas and Pfeiffer linked to Avengers, it is most likely for roles in Avengers 4. Douglas has only made one appearance as Hank Pym so far, and Pfeiffer has yet to make her MCU debut as Janet van Dyne. They’ll both appear in Ant-Man 2, which is set prior to the events of Infinity War. It makes far more sense for them to appear after the sequel in Avengers 4 than it does for the duo to pop up briefly in a movie that releases before Ant-Man 2, but actually is placed after in the MCU timeline.

As for what roles Hank and Janet could play, that is very unclear. Some theories believe the Quantum Realm will be a major factor in Avengers 4, so it’d make sense for two of the most knowledgeable people on that subject to be utilized. But, they could also be involved in many ways thanks to the unknown nature of Avengers 4’s story. Whatever size roles they have, them being involved in a major scene with Stan, Samuel L. Jackson, and so many more could play out in a number of ways. Does this signal a literal all hands on deck approach to defeating Thanos in Avengers 4? Or, could this be a scene that wraps up the first three Phases of the MCU featuring all surviving members of the attack? We’ll have to wait and see, but hopefully Avengers: Infinity War can give us some clues.
