Anthony Mackie reveals the final fight for Avengers: Infinity War is 25 pages long. There have been plenty of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to deliver on the spectacle, but none will be able to match the scale of Infinity War. The nineteenth film in the MCU brings together stars from every different franchise so they can try and stop Thanos. The marketing for Infinity War has primarily showcased two major throwdowns with the Mad Titan.

Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and some Guardians will encounter him on Titan, but that isn’t even the biggest fight. The finale of Infinity War sees almost every hero come to Wakanda to combat Thanos, the Black Order, and the army of Outriders. The trailers have continued to shine a spotlight on this sequence, and it may be even bigger than we realized.

Anthony Mackie was a guest on GMA and was asked about the final fight scene. The released footage has shown Falcon is very much a part of that fight, and Mackie revealed the length of the scene when he said, “I got 25 pages, which was the final fight sequence.” If the script averages a minute of screen time per page, then the movie could have a 25 minute fight scene at the minimum.

There is however a potential for it to be much larger. The Russos held the script of Infinity War extremely close to their chests, not allowing anyone other than Benedict Cumberbatch to read the entire thing. They even wrote fake scripts and scenes to throw actors off and to help keep them from spoiling something. That’s not to say that Mackie’s fight script was fake, but there’s a chance that he didn’t get the whole thing.

The biggest fight scenes in the MCU likely go to the Battle of New York in The Avengers or the airport battle in Captain America: Civil War. While the Russos described the Civil War scene as a single splash page, they’ve compared Infinity War’s big fight to a splash page so large that it just keeps unfolding. The trailers have kept the focus on the money shot of Captain America leading an army through the Wakandan jungle, but that may not even be the full set of heroes who’ll be there. Since we know Thanos comes there too, we don’t only not know everyone who will be involved in the fight, but also who could be among Thanos’ final victims in Avengers: Infinity War.
