Last year, Marvel Studios kicked off Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain America: Civil War, which pitted former Avengers teammates Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) against each other and left the team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes scattered across the globe. The Captain America threequel additionally introduced two new heroes to the MCU, Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and T’Challa aka Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). While Spider-Man’s solo film will hit theaters this year, Black Panther is currently in production in Atlanta, GA.

Marvel additionally started production on the massive undertaking that is Avengers: Infinity War, which will see heroes from all across the MCU team up to take on Thanos. Now, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War are looking for extras to fill out two extremely different kinds of scenes.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting Marvel is casting extras for Avengers: Infinity War who are of any ethnicity between the ages of 18-50, though “especially men with long hair and beards.” Additionally, these extras will “need to be comfortable with fake blood and with wearing special effects makeup.” The extras are needed for filming from March 31 through April 7, and the call instructs those interested to use “VIKING” in the subject line of the email.

Given the casting notice for Infinity War, it seems likely the scene in question will take place on Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) homeworld of Asgard - though it may not exclusively feature Asgardians since actors will need to be comfortable wearing special effects makeup. Plus, with the specifics noted by the casting call, the scene will undoubtedly include a battle. But, which of Avengers characters - aside from Thor, presumably - will be included remains to be seen.

As for Black Panther, AJC reports Marvel is calling for Asian men and women between the ages of 25-85 “to portray upscale guests and staff at a very nice event.” The roles specifically include a bartender, card dealers, a female hostess, and guests, while people “age 50 and over are especially needed.” Filming will take place over two three day periods in mid-February.

Considering the requirements, the movie seems to be filming an upscale event with high rollers, likely attended by King T’Challa as an embassador of Wakanda. According to the official synopsis released by Marvel Studios, T’Challa will be “drawn into a conflict” that affects the entire world, so it’s possible this scene will play into Black Panther’s mission to resolve that conflict - but likely one that won’t end in a fight sequence. Black Panther is additionally reported to film in South Korea for a chase scene and San Francisco, CA for flashbacks of T’Challa in school.

Of course, the descriptions for both Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther offer little to go on in terms of how they fit into their larger movies. These casting calls do offer fans a unique opportunity to be a part of the films in question, if they live in the area and meet the requirements. But, fans will no doubt be on the lookout for these scenes when Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters next year.
