As if the trailer for Avengers: Endgame wasn’t emotional enough, a fan had to go and edit it in the style of Logan, set to Johnny Cash’s “Hurt.” There have been many deeply emotional moments during the MCU’s 20-film (to date) run, including Steve Rogers’ decision to sacrifice himself to stop Red Skull’s plan in Captain America: The First Avenger, Tony Stark’s realization that The Winter Soldier murdered his parents in Captain America: Civil War, and T’Challa encountering his ancestors in the afterlife in Black Panther....

Thanos is coming, and The Avengers are not ready. Infinity War is only a year away. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, and Black Panther are all due before this third Avengers team-up film, but the fans know that May 2018 is the next true mega-event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it simply can’t come soon enough to sate their ravenous appetites. News is already trickling out of the Marvel hype machine, fueling the frenzied fans into a state of hype unrivaled by anything this side of Star Wars....

Risks (to the degree that anything is “risky” in the world of multimillion dollar entertainment) are the province of the books, comics, TV series, true stories and (occasionally) original ideas big movies are made out of. By the time anything is at the point of getting a sizable movie where financial success is important, it’s supposed to have proven itself as a brand capable of earning the necessary amount to turn a profit against its budget, spawn a succession of sequels, and likely a lot of merchandise....

When it comes to comic book reboots, DC is king. Ever since 1985’s Crisis on Infinite Earths merged the previously-multiversal DCU into a unified whole (to the dismay of many longtime fans but the joy of others) writers and editors have used subsequent storylines such as Zero Hour, Infinite Crisis, 52, Countdown, Final Crisis and others to further reshape the company’s ever-changing superheroic continuity. But the so-called “New 52” continuity - which reverted the DC heroes to younger, edgier versions of themselves - spinning out of the most recent such event, Flashpoint, has been widely criticized by fans (and some creators) for rendering some beloved characters unrecognizable while creating ongoing confusion about which older stories still count and which don’t....

Avengers: Endgame co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo say that Tony Stark was right about his mentality leading to the creation of Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The A.I. project-gone-wrong part of the “Ultron” global defense program was supposed to help safeguard Earth against any extraterrestrial attack similar to what happened in the Battle of New York. Motivated by the Scarlet Witch-induced hallucination that showed a post-apocalyptic world where his fellow heroes are dead, Stark built Ultron with the help of Bruce Banner using the Mind Stone....

HBO’s new sci-fi comedy Avenue 5 isn’t Veep, though it will be relentlessly compared to the perennial Emmy winning comedy and satire of the American political system due to both shows having been created by Armando Iannucci. Such a comparison might seem as though the foul-mouthed, space-faring satire has set a course for failure, but once the surprisingly dark and brutal satire moves past its frankly overstuffed and rather clumsy pilot episode, it demonstrates quite a lot of promise — mainly by being as not Veep-like as possible....

Popular unlimited cloud backup service Backblaze today announced its first-ever price increase. The company says it will increase its monthly price from $5 to $6 for both new and existing users. Backblaze says that starting March 11th, its month price will increase from $5 to $6, while its yearly price will go from $50 to $60. The two-year price is increasing from $95 to $110. In a blog post, Backblaze CEO Gleb Budman outlined that the company has enhanced its cloud backup service in several ways, all while keeping the price the same....

Electronic Arts announced that their World War II shooter Battlefield V will be built around three key pillars, one of which is a new cooperative mode. Called Combined Arms, this multiplayer cooperative mode will support up to four players online. Each will be a paratrooper, and they’ll attempt to take on dangerous missions together. Battlefield V will mark developer DICE’s return to WWII. They last revisited the devastating world event back in 2009’s Battlefield 1943 which released exclusively on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so it wasn’t as big of a release as traditional mainline Battlefield installments....

Battlefield V returns to the Pacific theater of war next week, on Halloween, with Chapter 5: War in the Pacific. This latest major expansion in DICE’s free post-launch content plans for Battlefield V addresses one of the community’s most requested features, and brings back beloved content from the original Battlefield 1942. After a comparatively slow roll-out of content (albeit, all free!) compared to prior Battlefield games and an endless series of disappointments in the delayed releases of modes like the game’s co-op and battle royale features (and cancelled 5v5 mode and cancelled soldier-dragging), Battlefield V has been seen as a mixed bag....

Two bits of news on Texture, the digital magazine service Apple bought in March: Texture apparently had a Windows app (not just iOS and Android apps), and that app is getting killed next month. The Verge reports that customers were notified over email and within the Windows app. Texture has also shared the news on its website: The Verge suggests that the Windows client for Texture may have been on the cutting block regardless of Apple’s involvement, however, based on a lack of recent updates and notable bugs like not being able to actually download magazines....

The team-up of Batman/Superman is returning to DC Comics, but it sure isn’t good news. The two Justice Leaguers are uniting to find out which heroes have been secretly infected with a cosmic darkness–before those targets turn completely evil, and bring the world down with them. Thankfully, the book’s writer has now explained why the first person corrupted also happens to be DC’s most innocent, childlike hero.
